Growing from Small

Bottom up
The fact is all the superheros you know had beginnings too. Starting small as emphasized in last edition of MATTER THAT MATTERS should not be argued as a path to greatness, small is the womb that conceives greatness. I acknowledge the fact that it might not be easy to start from the scratch and that is the point. When you decide to join the less than 20% that decide for the world in your chosen field, you must be ready to start with what you have even if small compared to your dream. The rule is; when you start from the scratch don’t stop scratching so that it will not crash. In order not to crash, you need;

1. Courage: People will over estimate the pain and under estimate the gain. That there are giants in the land might be an evidence that it is flowing with milk and honey, so, go up and take possession of the land, for you can certainly do it. It takes courage to be a self-starter and be self-responsible. It takes courage to walk new paths and develop new skills. It takes courage to stand out from the crowd. It takes courage to put out the extra effort when others don’t. In short, it takes courage to be known for excellence.

2. Integrity: Remember you are not small, you are only starting small with the big picture in mind. To grow above your present status, integrity is a vital nutrient. Don’t cause harm, encroach on other’s property, violate moral law, or damage the environment. Never choose expediency over integrity. Who you are determines what you will have. You can’t grow up by exploiting others or the environment.

3. Discipline: Life is governed by laws. Your daily habits can make or break your success. To succeed in the game, learn the game and play by the rule. It takes discipline to overcome procrastination by starting today and persisting tomorrow.
