You do not need to lose for me to win. We can both win!
In life, everything does not need to be a winner-take-all or zero-sum. If you deserve an elevated status, get it but not at the expense of others. Your win does not have to mean someone else’s loss.
It is healthier to think that the rest does not need to be losers for you to be the winner.
You will enjoy life better if you expand your definition of success beyond the common definition of somebody somewhere losing. Someone does not need to mourn because you make money from them.
There is ample everyday anecdotal evidence that people who do not wish or pray for people at the top of the ladder to fall for them to climb to the top are not victims of depression.
To have the mindset of “others must lose for me to win” is to sow a seed of selfishness that will breed desperation, that makes people go any (ungodly) length to win in life. It makes people kill others to make money, slander others for fame, pull others down to go up, etc. Do not wait to get what you are fighting for before you know it does not worth taking the happiness, peace, or life of other people.
