At every opportunity, do things right and be selfless.

Yes, society might be corrupt, the game/profession might permit corruption, and it might even seem like people don’t care how you do it, and they may not even applaud you for doing things right.

The day will come when your company or country needs someone with a track record like yours to fix the mess others have created.  At that point, you don’t need to do or have much to convince people of your ability to deliver. Your tribe or religion will be secondary. Some people will say it is luck, but it is God and your work.

Being excellent does not come easy, but it will eventually pave the way for you.  Excellence necessitates a commitment to identifying and correcting any known imperfections through rigorous discipline. To achieve excellence, you must be persistent and determined in your pursuit, and you must take action and make a commitment to doing the difficult work necessary to get it right. It’s a journey filled with successes and failures, and it requires a leader who is uncompromising in their pursuit of excellence, pushing and inspiring their team to reach their full potential.

Let’s keep doing the right things the right way. Your hard work and commitment to excellence will soon announce you to those that God will use to reward you. So stay focused and keep striving to be the best.

Scriptural references:

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” – Colossians 3:23-24

“Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” – Proverbs 22:29

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17
