MONEY is an essential tool of efficiency, and one of our servants. Money is our interpreter, it speaks all languages of the world. Money is not evil, it doesn’t change people’s character, it only removes the mask on people. As good as money is, it responds to idea.
Idea is a universal currency. It attacks money with ease. Idea can buy many things in life, money is one of the cheapest things idea can buy. In fact, good ideas will buy you better ideas, buy you better experiences, buy you more time, save your life. Ideas are the dark matter of the universe.
To be among the few that will control the destiny of the next generations, you must consciously learn how to generate more ideas than you need. Even to be comfortable in this generation, good idea is a prerequisite. To get a job or retain your job, you must continuously generate ideas on how to do things different and better.
The good news is, generating good idea isn’t as difficult as we assume. In fact, we all generate idea daily just that we’ve not been conscious of it. We don’t take it further by separating the good from the bad ones. We’ve not recognized idea as our major tool for global relevance. To develop your capacity to generate ideas;
1. Take off Your uniform: Society programmed us to act and think the same way, that itself is a barrier to generating ideas. If you want to be relevant in life you have to knock down the walls on your mind. Your education should expose you and not ‘box’ you, the knowledge and traditions the society hands down to you should be used to think better and further. NO LAW IS FIXED! All it takes is an act of will-power sometimes to breakthrough to the next step. If you want to be the head, think ahead. If you don’t want to be ‘boxed’, think outside the box. You cannot think like others and expect to be better than they are.
2. Take the Risk: The truth is that not all your answers will be right but enjoy the process. Some ideas will sure not work out but it will worth your effort, it will help you to come up with a better idea next time. Don’t be afraid to test, fail, try again, repeat, improve, test, fail again, and keep improving. The way to keep improving as an idea generator is to keep coming up with ideas for your personal life, family, church, your friends, the company you work for, your business and even for your country. If that idea does not work, think again.
3. Put Your Brain to Work: The brain will remain at its state of rest until you task it. Just like every other muscle, you have to consciously develop your brian to be an ever ready idea generator. Don’t wait till you need a major idea before you task your brain, do it daily. If you were the president of your country how would you have presided? What do you think the governor would have done to make your state better? What are those things that can reduce the expenses of your company and yield more profit?
