Resurrect Your Desire to Succeed

I can remember when I was in Primary school and my teachers would ask, ‘what do you want to become in the future?’ I can’t remember the profession I chose but definitely not Statistics. I doubt if I chose to be an author or a transformational speaker. I don’t think I was that informed to know these professions existed.

Before you write me off, can you remember your childhood dreams? What did you tell your parents or teachers in Primary school you wanted to become in life? Are you it now?

It is not a crime if you can’t remember or not it now, what you must not forget is; you never wanted to be a failure, pauper, liability, or nuisance. I also want to remind you that you grew up with a certain hunger to excel. Although you are not sure what form that hunger will take. Whether you end up in business, law, statistics or teaching, you developed a desire to excel and to be great

I don’t want to ignore the fact that sometimes the urge to be great, excel and do more is drummed out of us by limiting belief, upbringing or culture, so you might have felt compelled to lower your expectations and settle for an ordinary life. Now is the time to resurrect your desire to succeed.

1. Re-dedicate Yourself: Return to God, HE owns your life, HE is the manufacturer. Get God involved. Maturity is involving God in EVERY thing you do. God will not intrude, HE will only intervene. Move God closer by moving closer to HIM. Are you a sinner? God does not hate you, HE only hates sins.

Don’t let the devil deceive you by telling you your sins are too much and that you do not qualify to approach God. God is your father, He’s waiting for you to involve HIM. Do HIS will, reverence HIM and study His life’s manual-Holy Bible.

2. Reassure Yourself, You can: Don’t allow your victim story rob you of the life you deserve to live. Whatever the story, you can still be the hero you’ve always wanted to be. Live each day in the present, with your eye on the future you wish to create. You are capable and still powerful! Don’t give your power to people who have hurt you or to the experiences that undermined your self-confidence.

Step into the full magnificence of who you are, investing yourself in the belief that you can handle anything that comes your way. Remember, your excuses will not be accepted, all the world need from you is to make her better than you met her.

3. Re-energize Yourself . Every day think of little ways to become stronger, more self-disciplined and more self-reliant. Don’t let your life pass in a succession of boring days. Small actions done consistently yield tremendous results. Listen. Smile. Be patient. Volunteer. Contribute. Be caring. Train your body and mind regularly.

I pray that God will magnify your efforts in life in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
